Ken Curtis focuses on cross-border investments. For 30 years Ken has been based in Japan and handling real estate fund management, private equity investment, and commercial aircraft finance. During his career he has developed a broad network of investor contacts in Asia and Europe with extensive knowledge of real estate and venture financing.
Prior to joining TAP Japan in 2014, Ken managed for seven years the MGPA Japan Core Plus Fund, a private equity real estate fund in partnership with institutional investors. Previous to that role, he established and managed MEC International, a private equity firm in Tokyo that advised on investments in real estate and technology ventures. In the early 1990s, Ken established the operations in Japan for Secured Capital. In the 1980s he managed GATX Japan, the joint venture company between GATX Capital Corporation in the United States and Kanematsu Corporation, a leading Japanese trading company.
Ken holds a B.A. from Colby College, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina. An American citizen, he speaks fluent Japanese.
